Math Teacher

I attended Erskine 30 years after my high school graduation. I always wanted to be a math teacher but didn’t have family support to go when I was younger. My husband saw the SC Teacher Loan and said it was time for my dream to become a reality. I had visited Erskine while my husband worked on his doctorate at the seminary. Students were discussing their Old Testament class and I was impressed. I told my husband if I ever went to college I would love to go to Erskine. I love that Erskine is a missional college.

I was involved in ODK and earned Garnet Circle status my first year. The education department prepared me so well that my colleagues and students think I’ve been teaching most of my life. I now teach high school math and try to prepare my students for Erskine’s high standards of academics.
