Christopher Robinson, M.D., founding partner at Charleston Maternal Fetal Medicine, provides high-risk pregnancy care at East Cooper Maternal Fetal Medicine at East Cooper Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Dr. Robinson is also the Department Chair for Obstetrics & Gynecology at East Cooper Medical Center. He has held faculty positions with the Medical University of South Carolina, the University of South Carolina, the University of Wisconsin, the University of Illinois, and the University of Virginia.

From 2013 through 2022, Dr. Robinson was recognized as a National Best Doctor in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He has recently served on the Board of Directors and Annual Program Committee for the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and served as the Program Chair for the Annual Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine meeting for 2022. He is currently the Director for Development for the Foundation for the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine and is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) IBD Parenthood Project.

Dr. Robinson serves as an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Perinatology and Media Editor for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He was selected for an Editor Award for 2019-2020 by the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the leading journal in the specialty.

Dr. Robinson attended the Medical University of South Carolina for his medical training. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and went on to complete a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He has completed advanced training in medical bioinformatics and machine learning. He is a recognized national and international expert in hypertensive disease in pregnancy and obesity. Dr. Robinson has been involved in translational medicine trials and serves as advisor for clinical trials in obstetrics.
