About Daniel & Leslie

AT ERSKINE:

  • D: Class of 2015. Majored in Business Administration and played Men’s Soccer.
  • L: Class of 2014. Majored in Chemistry, and involved in the Athenian Literary Society, Orientation Team, and the Jesters.

AFTER ERSKINE:

  • D: I am the Senior Project Manager with the South Carolina Department of Commerce, increasing the economic vitality of South Carolina and increasing job opportunities for citizens of the Palmetto State.
  • L: I am the Chief Chemist for the South Carolina Department of Agriculture, working specifically with our Feed, Milk, and Petroleum laboratories. What I love most about it is that it combines a lifelong goal of working in the agricultural field while also utilizing my chemistry degree – truly my dream job. I’m grateful to be a part of protecting the farmers, consumers, and animals here in South Carolina.

Q: What is some advice you would give to current Erskine students?

D: “Absorb the experience, realize you are living in the ‘good-old-days’ now and you will appreciate your time infinitely more. Attend everything. Meet everyone.

L: “Current students, treasure your time at Erskine. The friends you have there will likely be the ones that are with you for the rest of your life. Say yes to the adventures and accept the opportunities that are presented to you – in their own special way, these are some of the best years of your life!”

L: Freshmen soiree date selection!

Q: If you could relive one day at Erskine, which day would it be and why?

D: Watching my wife in the Homecoming Court.

L: An Erskine snow day!

Reflecting on Erskine's Impact:

Q: How did Erskine prepare you for life after college?

D: Success is not determined by luck – the hardest workers are the “luckiest.”

L: Erskine provided a strong educational foundation for me that I was able to utilize and grow once I entered the workforce.

Q: What does the Erskine community mean to you?

D: Faith-based connectivity, education, history and legacy.

L: Connection. Foundation. Legacy. Tradition.

Fun Facts:

What are some of your hobbies?

D: Enjoying God’s outdoor creation.

L: I enjoy spending time with family outside, going for a run, and traveling to new places!
